Google heeft namelijk een nieuwe tool genaamd “Bouncer” aangekondigd waarmee ingediende apps automatisch gecontroleerd worden op verdachte code. De hele procedure kost slechts enkele seconden per Android-app en vertraagt het verdere proces voor toelating in de Android Market niet, mits een app in orde is natuurlijk. Wordt een app door “Bouncer” als verdacht aangemerkt dan moeten medewerkers van Google  een nader onderzoek starten om te beoordelen of de app werkelijk kwaadaardige code bevat. Met “Bouncer” zet Google een grote stap richting een veiliger Android Market. Google laat overigens nog even fijntjes weten dat je als Android-gebruiker ook kunt controleren of een app  verdacht is door aandachtig de lijst met machtigingen door te nemen voordat je een app installeert.

Nadat je een gratis account via de app hebt aangemaakt kun je via de shop een los nummer van 1 van deze kranten downloaden of een gratis abonnement nemen voor 4 weken (20x), 3 maanden (65x) of half jaar (130x). De Beacon universal remote maakt via een bluetooth verbinding met je Android-device waarop een speciale gratis app draait zodat je je Hi-Fi-set, televisie, DVD-speler e.d vanaf het scherm van je device kunt bedienen. Wanner je via de app een bepaalde functie selecteert wordt de opdracht via bluetooth aan de Beacon universal remote doorgegeven die vervolgens via infrarood het betreffende apparaat aanstuurt. Op zich een leuk idee en met een prijskaartje van $69,99 ook redelijk betaalbaar. Enige nadeel aan de Beacon universal remote is dat je de bluetooth ontvanger annex infrarood zender op een plek moet neerzetten zodat alle apparatuur het infrarood signaal kan zien en dus ontvangen, iets wat in veel huiskamers wel eens een hele uitdaging kan zijn. Afgezien hiervan is de Beacon universal remote een leuke en betaalbare oplossing om van je android-telefoon, of -tablet, een universele afstandsbediening te maken. De i’mWatch heeft een 1,5-inch 240×240 scherm en biedt de mogelijkheid om te internetten, mail te lezen en uiteraard Facebook en Twitter te checken. Tevens zou het horloge als telefoon te gebruiken zijn. Het ontwero ziet er goed uit en heeft een bepaalde klasse. Het is nu echter nog de vraag wanneer het product op de markt komt, en hoeveel euro’s je er voor kwijt bent. Of hebben we hier te maken met een sterk staaltje luchtfietserij/vapourware. De tijd zal het leren.
